Problems/Symptoms:
Getting started with provisioning can be a daunting task. Knowing what actions are necessary and how to build templates is challenging. And when something goes wrong, it can take a long time to troubleshoot the issue.
Fix:
The purpose of this document is to post relevant sample templates to provision workstations and servers. All environment specific paths, image names, usernames, passwords, product keys, etc., have been replaced by public variables. The idea is to provide templates that require little or no modification. You just need to create the public variables and then start using the templates.
Each attached .zip file contains one provisioning template. Each template comes with a readme with an explanation of the required variables, general assumptions, answer files, etc.
All templates that are posted have been tested and verified. However, if any of the templates appear incomplete or incorrect, please post to the comments section of this document. This is intended to be a dynamic article.
This document will initially contain templates for LDMS 8.8 only. There is not much difference between the 8.8 and 8.7 templates. If there is sufficient demand, templates will also be released for 8.7.
