I have in my Lab a copy of our live LDMS server running on 9.5 SP3.
I have tested this to ensure it is all working as our live version is and so far all is good. I can boot a PC and it enters PXE and I can press F8 and select provisioning.
I then upgraded to LDMS 9.6 with NO service pack.
Uninstalled the agent form the server acting as PXE representative. Rebooted. Installed the new 9.6 agent. Rebooted. Uninstalled the PXE Representative using the new job in Distribution. Rebooted. Installed the new PXE representative. Rebooted.
Tried my PXE again and all was well. PC boot to PXE and I can press F8 and select an option from the menu.
Installed SP1 for 9.6.
Uninstalled the agent form the server acting as PXE representative. Rebooted. Installed the new 9.6SP1 agent. Rebooted. Uninstalled the PXE Representative using the new job in Distribution. Rebooted. Installed the new PXE representative. Rebooted
Menu did not display the 4 second countdown but at least I was getting a PXE offer.
Installed SP2 for 9.6.
Uninstalled the agent form the server acting as PXE representative. Rebooted. Installed the new 9.6SP2 agent. Rebooted. Uninstalled the PXE Representative using the new job in Distribution. Rebooted. Installed the new PXE representative. Rebooted
Now PXE will not work at all. I get an error stating no boot file offered.
What has changed in the PXE process between these version?
If something as simple as a SP has broken this what else ha changed.
I will not be allowed to upgrade our Live core server if I cannot prove that all is working.
