Using LDMS 8.7 SP3, an error is returned when ldprovision.exe is launched from within the Windows PE environment:

error: [80001500H]The call to the Web service failed

at: [685]ProvisioningWebSvc.cpp

Fix:

Apply Windows 2003 Service Pack 2 to the core server.
