How to set the provisioning logging level on the core server

Problems/Symptoms:

When troubleshooting provisioning, you may want to increase the logging level. Running the command line manually with the appropriate switches on the target machine can be tedious.

Fix:

As of version 8.8, there is a configuration file on the core server that controls logging levels:

\ManagementSuite\log\provisioning\LogLevel.ini

You can set the default logging level for provisioning to ERROR, WARNING, INFO, VERBOSE, or DEBUG. Each logging level is additive and includes all the logging levels that preceded it. For example, WARNING includes all the logging you would get with ERROR, plus new logging.

Besides setting the default logging level, you can set different logging levels for specific provisioning components. These are the most common components:

AuthUserInfoBasic

DeliveryMethodLookup

DHCPServerInterface

MBSDKConnector

PHistoryEntry

PHistoryTask

PROV_SCHEDULE

ProvisioningSecure

ProvisioningService

ProvUserValidator

Follow the instructions in LogLevel.ini when changing the provisioning logging levels.

Applies to:

LANDesk Management Suite 8.8
