Introduction

With the introduction of Management Suite 9.6, a set of new features have been introduced.

https://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-31597 .

One of these includes the opportunity to join to a specific Organisational Unit in a provisioning template.

In fact, while in the past the end user had to undertake a few steps such as manually edit the xml file in order to achieve this objective, with the new provisioning form, this operation has been simplified.

This document explains how to easily join an Organisational Unit (OU) in a few steps.

How to:

To join a specific OU (in our example called OUTest2) within another OU (OUTest1) of a domain (LANDesk.local). (Figure 1)

Step by step

  1. Create a variable with the name you prefer (in this example is called “orgUnit”) which points to the full path (according to Microsoft conventions for Active directory: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727030.aspx) of the Organisational Unit of destination.
  2. Use the correspondent button (figure 2 and 3).
